The world was invaded by beings that came from another dimension, they called themselves as "ancients". From that day forward, the world started to be filled with chaos, beasts emerged and other creatures made themselves known. In counterpart, people started developing abilities that could be considered supernatural, to say the least.

The world that used to be peaceful in its own way, became a place where the strong feasts while the weak begs. Marcus Crane, a teenager considered to be one of those who was the most unfortunate—struggles as he tries to find a living.

Marcus was rejected by the Beast Hunters Association, and several terrible things happened to him and his sister. Because of this, Marcus lost his will to work and survive. His path was soon led astray and has resorted to desperate measures to get money.

One day, Marcus was stabbed to death as he failed to flee from the people who were chasing him. Thinking he was in the afterlife, Marcus walked endlessly and suddenly encountered something that could be his luckiest moment.
