Or the slim chance to clear his name, as he's falsely blamed for a catastrophe? So, Adam joins the investigation to end the Taint: a weaponised affliction that alters memories.

Soon, after their old friend Caine's betrayal, the group wakes up in an otherworldly labyrinth. The scents and voices of Caine's past linger in these caves. Here, in his twisted Realm of Remembrance, Caine's recollections come to life. While lost cities from his happier days can still be found, traumas and other abominations are spreading their vile influence. To survive, Adam must face his own past, for Caine recalls people and events quite differently indeed…

In his refusal to die, Adam even allows his whispering left heart to help him. For he'll gladly take the sinister risks involved if it means he can rescue his wife and son. However, will they even want Adam to, after Caine altered their memories to love himself instead?

What to expect:

- Characters from a rich fantasy world are transported to a different fantasy world which embodies another character's memory. - The focus of the story is on plot, combat, banter between old friends, and figuring out how the memory world and its magic system work. - Not a LitRPG story. - Chapters are usually around 2000 words. - At the moment, I'm posting a chapter per week on Thursdays. - Starting on May 27, I'll temporarily release chapters more frequently again.- Later on, I'll publish the first set of chapters as Book 1: A Labyrinth of Memories.
