This day wasn't Fritz's best day, in fact he would've rated as one of his worst even if he wasn't forced to climb a particularly malevolent Spire. Still, with great risks come great rewards and the Spires are nothing if not risky.
The mysterious Spires have stood for thousands of years, great empires, kingdoms and cities rise and fall around them. Inside the fabled Spires are Treasures, monsters and most importantly, Powers. Every floor cleared gives the choice of magical Abilities and Attributes that, when built up and chosen well, could raise even a street urchin to a king or even beyond.
Which is lucky for our hero because he and his friends are urchins; or thieves to be more precise, caught in a deadly peril, climb or die.
What to expect.
Climbing Spires and completing their Floors for rewards. As Spires are the source of Power and Wealth in this world the story will centre in and around them.
The crew will start off as inexperienced climbers and will make mistakes, but they will learn. Weak to strong.
A System granted and empowered by the Spires. There are meaningful choices to be made when picking Abilities and aligning Attributes. You've got to climb to get strong.
Fighting in 'Climber' teams with the occasional solo battles. MC is not OP and is not a loner.
*Minor Spoilers*
MC will be a scout/stealth specialist focusing on Perception and Agility as well as Sense and eventually Shadow Powers (and more).
A bit of a slow set up of the System and its mysteries.
Some unpowered action and fighting but MC and Crew get their first, well-earned Powers in *Extra Spoiler* Chapter 8.
Long-ish Chapters 3000+ words.
Updating Thursdays and Sundays.
