Hidden by the endless slog of the day to day, the gears of industry and science march on silently. Inattentive and unnoticing, people go about their days comforted by the easy familiarity of routine and society.

Unfortunately, the comfort of routine all too easily disguises the fragility of the status quo. A freak accident of chance, and magic is born on modern day earth. How does society cope when man is no longer created equal.

Social upheaval, political unrest, scientific progress and complicated politics are the answer.

This story's plot will simmer at a character-focused slow burn, and while I will update it as frequently as I can manage to write it will be quite a while before we get to anything crazy. It will start off in the modern day, and will develop as it chooses to, with a focus on a realistic account of the results of power.
