"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to kill you. How about I reincarnate you in a fantasy world?"

These were the words uttered by the Keeper to Ishrin who, incidentally, was not a high school kid but rather one of the most powerful beings of his own universe. A ritualist who had climbed the ladder of power until he stood at the top, all with the single objective of gaining god-hood so he could see his wife again. And then, all of a sudden, a god calling himself the Keeper killed him with zero effort... before saying it was a mistake and offering to reincarnate him. Without any of his former power and just a lame compensation.

Fortunately Ishrin still had memory of all the rituals he used to gain power in the first place. Perhaps he could take a vacation, knowing that his wife was waiting for him at the end of the line.

Not so fast. There were other reasons beyond what the Keeper said, reasons that became apparent in a matter of days. What was supposed to be a vacation quickly turned into a race to survive, to gain power, friends, and information about what was going on and what the Keeper really wanted from him. Enemies too powerful to deal with sprung up left and right, and the all-present Guild of Adventurers turned out to be a totalitarian dystopia that actually hunted heroes and reincarnators.

Plus, the multiverse was much wider than Ishrin ever thought.

What is this story? This story began as a way to just have some fun with a power fantasy but soon, much in my style, it turned into something else entirely. You can clearly see it by the tone shift from the carefree and random tone of the first chapters (in need of a rewrite) into a more serious and mature prose later on. It's a nod to power fantasy and isekai, with a little bit of litRPG in it, and tons of progression that happens organically. All choices and actions have consequences. All villains are tangible threats who are felt and who shape the decisions of the protagonist. The characters are not flat 2d cardboard cutouts, but they have complex personalities and relationship, going from the main character to the supporting cast and beyond. In fact, one might argue that there is no main character but a main cast of them, going on adventures and barely surviving the dangers of the universe together.
