At first, he thought he was going mad—then he died.
One day, Logan Dileva, a dour man in his early twenties, begins to hallucinate, which leads to his untimely death. He meets Mikey, the overeager Celestial Being who has been assigned as his guide to the afterlife. Resigned to the finality of an early death and excited at the prospect of realizing his dream of spending the remainder of his existence in a cushy heaven-like dream-state, Logan's peaceful future is robbed from him by the same eldritch creature whose hallucinations were the cause of his death.
Now Logan finds himself alive once more in a new body, and a new world. With an errant Celestial Being living rent-free in his head, Logan arrives with a splash in the highland springs of a far-away fantasy world filled with monsters, gods, and more hardship. He meets new friends and allies, develops his Rei, and is forced to conquer traumas both new and old, all while discovering troubling facts about himself, his past, and his future, whose implications will shake the very foundations of the Central Realms and the Seven Sovereignties.
Hi there, and thanks for dropping by to check out my series.
*** Some notes about Imprimis Son ***
*First and foremost, this is the story that I've wanted to write. I'm writing to my taste, and to what I wish I could consume as the reader. Our tastes may differ, and that's okay!
*There are gamelit and litrpg elements to this story, but it does not overshadow the dark fantasy roots of the series.
*I take a lot of inspiration from manga and anime that I've enjoyed over the years, primarily HxH, Berserk, Tower of God, JJK, FMAB, Bleach, and a number of others. Let me know if you spot any references to those shows in the novel ^_^
*Towards chapter 26, a Tower story is introduced along with another character, so if that tickles your fancy then there's that to look forwards to.*I've been writing for a while now, but this is my first long-format work. I appreciate any and all feedback and criticism, and I hope that you'll bear with me as I gain my footing and improve as an author.
*This is a bit of a slow burner. Action and adventure abound, but so do character arcs and progression. Towards the latter chapters (20's), I've sorted out the pacing to a degree that I find pleasant, but the earlier ones might seem to drag on a tad. This will be rectified in a later full-scale revision of the novel and has been amended numerous times in the last several weeks, but the early chapters will remain in their present state for the time being.
*Have a wonderful time reading ^_^
