Dylan Adams had an ordinary but blissful life. He had loving parents and a cute little sister that enjoyed following him around.
But in just two days, two short days, he lost everything. And the world as he knew it came crashing down on him.
He couldn't even try finding his missing family members due to being constantly chased by a mysterious group of people. Hungry, terrified, anxious, paranoid, and constantly missing his family became part of his new life.
This went on for a while until one day, Dylan just couldn't take the hunger anymore, prompting him to do something ruthless. Dylan had kept a rat as a pet for three years. And the rat had been with him in his darkest hour causing their bond to be unimaginably close, but on this day, Dylan, devastated with hunger, ate his pet!
And yet, sadly, halfway through Dylan choked and nearly died from asphyxiation, which led him to fall unconscious.
But when Nick woke up, he found that he had grown a lot shorter, and a lot hairier…?!

First off, any constructive criticism is always welcome, I take the input of my readers seriously so don't hesitate to comment as I read every one of them.
I Smell a Rat is my second novel. And unlike my first novel, where the story setting is in a different world, this novel actually sets itself on earth. It starts off as a generic family novel in the first chapter, but it will soon start to delve into the dark secrets of the world and how mystical the earth is under the veil.
Updates, for now, will be three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but since this is the first week I will release an extra chapter on Thursday as well.
Hope you guys enjoy ready the novel as much as I enjoyed writing it.
