During an approved vacation won after completing 300 missions, elite vampire hunter Leah is called back to duty early by her agency to participate in an important operation. She's tasked with getting close to the notorious master of Coven Forty-Eight, a mysterious and powerful vampire linked to series of grisly crimes, in order to lure him into position for capture. The mission holds personal importance to her as well, since the master left her lifelong best friend and former lover crippled during a reconnaissance mission.

Leah infiltrates the seedy underworld of opium trafficking in order to reach the master, but finds after time that the mission becomes complicated the longer she interacts with her target. Not everything is as it seems and she starts to believe that the master's profile may be completely wrong. However, Leah is not paid to hesitate and she's bound to laws regarding her conduct on the field. She must deliver her target as ordered, or risk becoming the agency's target herself.
