Yuan Ming was a simple slave from a run-down slum. Together with his lover, he did odd jobs for the White Mist Sect and earned his daily bread. Life hadn't been kind to them, but they never complained.

However, one day, his life is broken into pieces when his lover is taken captive by a lustful old man and violated. Yuan Ming is then thrown in a forest, where he meets his doom at the hands of an eldritch entity.

The next thing he knows, he's in the body of the same eldritch entity. Driven mad by incomprehensible whispers of its soul, he succumbs to bloodlust and summons a rift to the Dead Nether, summoning blight to the entire world.
