Simon wakes up in his own home, with his own couch and kitchen, his own yard and his own view of a clear blue sky where a city used to be. His house seems to be floating in the sky, but at least the water is still running. Perhaps the weird glowing ring in the living room can tell him what happened?

This is a story that draws from varying elements I have encountered in fantasy novels, most notably the works of Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson (Wheel of Time, read it if you haven't yet).
