Pearl Llewellyn had a rough life. Orphaned at six, she didn't stay in the same school district more than six months at a time. With each new school she was ignored or bullied. Things got slightly better when she became old enough to discover the internet and make some friends there. Through all of this she still maintained decent grades and a relatively positive attitude.

Still this all came to an end on her 18th birthday. Suffering from bullying on a school field trip to the ocean was enough to push her over the edge. Literally speaking, not figuratively. One wrong push, one badly maintained railing, and a 20 foot drop to a rocky shore line was enough to put her out.

Yet she still wakes up, but everything is black. Things are strange, and she can't feel her limbs. Oh no, did she break her spine? But she can still wiggle and move. Then an almost blindingly blue screen appears in front of her with words that make her happy and sad.

"Welcome to your new life, you have been reincarnated as a [water hatchling]!"
