They say the Industrial Revolution is the most impactful revolution ever, but on the cusp of a new one, many disagree.

Five years after magic was found in a world resembling the Victorian era, Lile Dew, still in his early twenties, arrives at the capital city of Celbrun with scuffed shoes and an official letter from his employer. His job? To teach Arcane Knowledge at the Royal Academy of Excellence, where excellence is the standard.

The world is changing, and as a mage, a trade new and rare, Lile must adapt to its ways. As one of the few in the world who can manipulate surroundings to their wishes, he must establish rules — for himself and his students as he prepares for the golden age of magic.

He will have to prepare lectures, teach classes, dine with fellow professors, and fight when he must. But while he spends each day in the study of magic, who watches him secretly? Who is it that conspires? What is their aim? And what do they want from the Professor of Arcane Knowledge?
