Who watches the watchmen?

An interesting question in a world where magic lies just under the surface. Where sorcerers lurk among normal people, where vampires, demons, and ghosts lie just in the shadows. Where your local barista might be a cute crush by day and a horrifying creature of darkness by night. Here, sorcerers have formed some semblance of order among themselves, forming rules and laws that stop any of their own from falling ill to a bad case of crazy and sacrificing innocents to summon Cthulhu.

But what if a sorcerer breaks the rules? What if they do try and conjure up an eldritch tentacled abomination? Who watches them? Who takes them down?

The Sentries.

An elite group of sorcerers trained to eliminate their brethren and assigned to certain areas to keep the peace. Among them is Lai, the Sentry for a comfortable city where nothing has happened in over five years. Yet there are rumblings of the dark, little upwells of evil that signal the coming of a very real threat to the city he calls home.
