The story follows Ryan Gregory, a young man who finds himself in crippling debt after his family is forced to pay a huge bribe to keep the son of a local mafia lord from taking away their daughter. While it is illegal for him to work longer than 50 hours a week, playing a game is not work. Ryan takes it upon himself to turn his A Simpler Reality account into a money-making machine. Turning most of his guild's assets into hard cash has caused most members to leave for greener pastures. Those who stayed are his closest friends, who will do their best to support him the best they can in-game.

Taking riskier and riskier missions has led the team to learn of the Lyran Empire's plan to launch a surprise invasion of Rhothban, their neighbours to the north. Using what little remains of their funds, The Bloody Maiden's prepare for a desperate mission that could be the meal ticket Ryan so desperately needs.

Content Warning: This story will contain coarse language, bad puns ( the best kind ), and annoying princesses ( Yet to be seen ). While portions of the story will contain attempts at humor, there will also be darker moments. Expect mentions, if not detailed descriptions, of rape, slaughter, slavery, and other nastiness. In the future, there will be mature content, such as depictions of sexual encounters, ranging from light flirting, to moderately descriptive erotic scenes. However, these will be used to fuel my ego…. Further the plot, so do not expect frequent erotic content.

Authors Note: After my first attempts at this novel, I realized that I had left the main characters with little to motivate their growth. A revision has been made, that changes the starting position of the plot, while keeping the same characters and general flow.
