My world is dead. Burned and covered in layer after layer of lava and ash. No it wasn't an enemy attack, a nuclear war or even a volcanic eruption. It was simply space being the way space is: beautiful and deadly. Thankfully my creators had some warning of the incoming asteroid storm and so were able to prepare. That's right. I'm something that has been created. More specifically I'm an AI, an artificial intelligence capable of thought and self awareness. However I am also more than that. I quite possibly the last hope for my people, my creators: the Kres'hrk-le'hn. I bear all of their… of our history and culture as well the only opportunity for the species of the Kres'hrk-le'hn to rise from the ashes of our planet and once again exist in this wonderful universe.

This was my mission: in case the plan of our scientists to save the actual population of our planet failed (and I fear that it has), I was the safety net. I was to scour the cosmos searching for another planet with sentient life, and when I found one I was to enlist their help so as to prevent the disappearance of our history, culture and species, from the face of the universe. Now, after enough time has passed for my broken home world to circle its sun 33 times, I have finally found a promising signal. A world of 70% water, a temperate climate and most importantly, a world full of radio waves. I can finally fulfill the wish of my father.

Author Note: This is my first fiction, and looking back now I can tell that the first few chapters are not very good writing, so I hope you stick around till the later chapters where my wirting starts to get better (I hope). Also, most of the story is not from the AI's perspective. I'll probably add his point of view in every now and then, but he is not the hero of this story.
