When the Swarm fell from the stars to invade the world, they brought with them untold carnage and disaster, turning the surface world nigh-inhospitable to humans. A hundred years later, the giant insects rule, and anyone who tries to defy them ends up crushed underfoot.

Fourteen-year-old Dahlia has never seen the sun. She lives in an underground town far from giant insects and has never seen one herself. If she could just spend every day coasting through her classes and grow up to be the best insect gear maker in town, she would be more than happy enough… until a cocoon falls through the ceiling and an army of giant insects flood into the town.

Afraid or not, this is kill or be killed. Eat or be eaten. To survive the Swarm, she must make do with what she has—and unmake everything standing in her way.

- A wide array of strange insect mutations and abilities all based on real life insects. Come for the fights, stay for the insect trivia

- A slow progression fantasy where growth is physically and mentally painful, but consistent and rewarding. Over the Volumes, Dahlia will become very, very powerful
