This is a collection of short stories based on ideas that I have created during my writing process for my main book series the Geb War Chronicles (link below). However as some of these ideas are incapable of being recycled into the main story or even used as a side story, I thought them unusable unless I turn them into full fledged other series or even games or movies. That was until I realised I could make them into short stories… and maybe even self published Anthology books.

The short stories that I will post here on Royal Road, and other locations such as Reddit, will be free to read. I will post them exclusively onto my Patreon Page (link below) first and then after some time upload them to various other websites.

Short Story summaries:

The first two stories are science fiction short stories about humanities victorious nature and their miraculous kindness respectively. These stories are snap shots into moments in the life of the protagonists and are filled with moments of hope and wonder, both for the protagonist and the world around them.

Victory Incarnate:

This is a short story about an alien creature known as the Silex and its encounter with humanity in a far flung future, an encounter that reveals the true nature of humanity, in all of its unending wonder.

God in the Ashes:

This story takes place upon the world of Fenix as it is in the throes of dying. The story centres of Raum and his struggle with the end of his world, his love for his family and most importantly the Gods he finds hidden in the volcanic ash.

Crucible of Mars:

This story is about a Dragon Detective by the name of Grendel Godsbane who has been hired to look into the workings of an Elf Terrorist group and figure out where they are operating from. The story is set to the backdrop of Mars being terraformed through magic all the while the technological United Earth Federation watches on and enforces its will through scientifically created anti-magic devices.

The Lost Skies of Aes:

This is a tale set within a world where the surface has been rendered lightless and lifeless. It is a tale centred on wizard Quin Daedal as he begins to ready himself for the next expedition to the surface of the world of Aes to try and find the clues to the nature of what and how, and maybe even who, turned the surface world into a lightless lifeless metallic husk.

The Light Bringer's Origin:

This is the first chapter of a now defunct story about an urban fantasy focusing on the wars that occur between the various scions of Lucifer, the vampires, the werewolves and the gargoyles, along with other weirder monsters that were spun into being by reality itself. This book series despite numerous books being planned will most likely be left unfinished, however if response to this chapter is positive I might be inclined to upload the rest of the chapters… all 35 of them.

Chronoheim: Legends of the Moonclock:

The Legends of the Moonclock is a short story centred on Tephra Xerxes, an undead warrior who awakes to find her world in turmoil. Awakened by the scent of blood and death, Tephra begins to explore the ruins she finds herself in, finding a wounded elf and mad undead creatures that long to destroy all life they can find and even Tephra herself.

Yet this is not Tephra's greatest worry as it becomes clear that the world has fallen so far that some dare to dream about destroying the Moonclock that hangs over head. The same Moonclock that controls and counts down to the next age upon the world of Chronoheim. Finding all of this out Tephra sets forth to make sure that life will continue even while trapped in a world that seems primed to destroy any hope of a better existence.

In Search of Chocolate Milk:

"In Search of Chocolate Milk" is a story about a strange and sugary world, with its main character having to endure all manner of perils in order to find the source of immortality itself.

Chocolate Milk.

The tale takes place at the frontier of known human civilisation and it involves Morgan Rust having to deal with the perils of a world made out of various kinds of desert. These perils range from bandits, to the remains of giant fruit that fall from the sky.

Advent of the Astral Mage:

Banished by the dying breath of a Demon Lord, Magnus Shrive hero of the endless land of Efes finds himself in a new reality were science rules. Yet even in what should be a utopia, there are still threats from beings that belong to his old world. Threats that now can be challenged and even beaten by the advent of the newly born Astral Mage.
