The world of Ministille, the city of Roma: an ancient hub of civilization that has grown into a modern center of all things spiritual and technological. This city is overseen by the Orion Family, a family that has presided over matters of the world since the earliest days of written history. The members of the Orion Family are, naturally, given only the most privileged of lifestyles and education.

Emanuel Martinez-Orion is half Orion, and has recently been transferred to Roma to pursue a greater education at the behest of the Family. Skilled as he may be, he is dwarfed by the other members of the Orion family. Will he be able to live up to his family's legacy, or will the crushing weight of expectation leave him by the wayside?

In the world of Ministille, blood is not content with merely being shed; it takes form, becomes sentient, and seeks to reproduce by shedding more blood in turn. It is the divine duty of the Slayers to quell these monsters- the Feeders- at every turn, lest they consume the world. Like it or not, Emanuel must become a Slayer.
