Daimons have invaded the world-god Magus, corrupting and consuming all that exist within it. Humans and beasts have been conscripted into the war to fight against this otherworldly threat. After a Ludcetan city mysteriously falls to Daimons, one legion is sent by the High Magisterium to investigate and destroy the threat before it spreads throughout their nation.

Three friends conscripted before finishing their magical education want to stay alive. An equally inexperienced Tribunus, burdened with the responsibility of many lives, must learn the cost of leadership. A mysterious outsider with ulterior motives searches for something in the midst of war.

Together, they must survive and fight against forces that defy everything they know. To do so, they must be willing to defy the rules set by the High Magisterium itself. Will their world be saved or will they all succumb to fear?
