When May Phoenix awoke from cryostasis on a crumbling outpost belonging to her own almost extinct species and with a near total memory loss she knew: She was done for.
Together with an AI that lost most of its memory data due to time and failing computer systems, she now has to figure out how to repair a space station far past its expiration date, how to deal with the ambitious alien species in whose system she finds herself, how to evade an interstellar war being waged directly above the moon her space station is placed upon, and how to deal with her still-frozen comrades that she is in danger of permanently losing without the right equipment. And all this while a literal mountain threatens to collapse upon her.
Now she has to work with the unfathomable technology of her species, the workings of which not even her AI companion understands, and all this while being under a very tight timelimit. Because if she takes too long, the debris from the space battle above her head will put a swift and painful end to her freshly reclaimed life. Or the failing life support. Or the antimatter reactor about to explode. Or one of the countless galactic powers, vying for supremacy over the galaxy, that will stop at nothing to get their hands on the revolutionary technology of the Aetherian Empire.
Will she be able to defend her position as inheritor to the Aetherian Empire on the galactic stage, or will the waves of change consume even the last remnants of the legacy the Aetherian Empire, the greatest Empire in galactic history and once the sole hegemon to thausands of galaxies, left behind? Only time will be able to tell, but the way in front of May is a hard and risky one, but one that promises great rewards upon sucess. But in case of failiure, the fall will be steep.
But one thing is clear: May is determined to stop at nothing to reignite the flickering candle that is the leftovers of the aetherian legacy and transform it into the brightly burning bonfire that the Aetherian Empire once was. An empire that once upon a time striked awe and fear into the hearts of sentient beings all across the known cosmos.
This story contains from time to time pictures of different scenes. Some of the pictures are drawn by me, while others were created by using an AI. Accordingly, below every picture used in the novel, one can find a short comment if the AI made the picture or if I drew it myself. The cover picture of the novels are always and will always be drawn by myself.
