Creativity.
Individualism.
Free will.
These concepts cease to exist once Cosmic Energy infiltrates our world in 2084; replacing and enhancing Earth's technology. Like sheep, humanity follows the new ordinances established by those in power. However, there are individuals who have chosen to break the mold, wolves in sheep's clothing dedicating themselves to the cause.
Raiko Ohm, codenamed Kat, is one of the many nonconformists of New Kyoto. As a Conductor, Raiko can physically manipulate the world around her, as can her comrades codenamed Panda and Lyon. Together, the three set out on a mission to conquer the governance to forge a new world that restores free will to humanity once again.
What to expect:
A finely crafted plot with actual character and story arcs, along with overarching themes which will inevitably lead to a satisfying conclusion.
This is a character's first story. Character development is the main focus.
Our main character, who uses electricity, will grow more powerful over time. This is not a litRPG, but she does gain new abilities over time. It's more like how Goku gets stronger over time rather than how it works in a video game.
Proper grammar.
You will follow the MC through many years of her life, starting from late high school.
I wrote this story because of the oversaturation of litRPG. No offense if that's your thing, but I want to write a superhero story outside of that genre as I feel it hardly exists on this platform. I wanted to write something with real stakes; where the readers are more attached to the characters and their relationships rather than some stats on the screen. In my humble opinion, seeing someone grow stronger via sheer willpower, pain, or the desire to protect others is more impactful than hitting an EXP threshold or defeating a boss to get stronger. One of my favorite comic panels shows Spider-Man trapped under rubble, unable to move. He's about to give up, but he reminds himself of who he is. He's the only one who can do this! So he musters up the strength to free himself from the rubble and continue to be the city's protector. That is far more impactful, in my opinion, than if a screen popped up and gave him a buff. This is a character-first story as I mentioned before and if that's your cup of tea, even if you prefer litRPGs, this novel is worth your read, trust me.
Again, no offense if you like litRPGs, it's just not for me as an author or reader.
I also wrote this story as a commentary about AI and how humans are growing too complacent with it. Just look at the cover art on the books on the rising stars list, every single one of them is AI art. You give them an inch and they'll take a mile, soon enough entire books will be made with AI. Our movies, our shows, our songs, they'll all be replaced by slop that loses the essence of humanity that makes art what it is.
