What happens when bounty hunters abduct the wrong recruit for conscription?

This is a light lit RPG and romance set in a Magitech future.

The War with chaos incursions is ongoing when a special recruit is kidnapped from their homeworld. EMP Pulsers have been keeping the population locked into the dark ages for good reasons.

Is conscripting gremlins into the fleet going to lead to a new era of prosperity, or is it going to lead to the downfall of the Unified Planetary Fleet and the destruction of the slaver worlds?

Please note, this story is a militaristic progression adventure/romance, has two POV's, and is a non-crunchy litRPG with references to various forms of government and a unified religion.
