A nice traditional fantasy with heroes and heroines on a journey to save the world, cute animals, monsters to kill. Just like every other fantasy book ever.
I joke.
This is actually an epic fantasy that doesn't waste your time getting to the story.
There's no tag yet for Nobledark so have checked Grimdark.
After this is completed (last chapter) it'll be undergoing a revision or two starting with chapter one. The ending of that chapter isn't strong enough to carry though the whole book so it'll changing again and the rest of plot with it.
I'll need beta readers and sensitivity readers soon. Wonder if there's any on this site?
Possible Triggers in this book are:
Dark themes/world (It is a dark fantasy after all. *cough*)
Descriptions bordering on gore (What I'd consider mild descriptions of injuries. But sometimes I can get a bit enthusiastic, so wait a day or two and I'll probably edit it a bit. That's why I don't use the tag.) Telling the story is the thing not trying to make anyone vomit. 😛
Mental and verbal abuse
Violence
Mild horror
Heart stopping action? (I can fantasize I'm getting that right, ha. 😅)
This is a multi pov book. There's three atm. Am working hard to limit this so that readers can stay snuggly in one pov for as long as possible. I'll only switch when it's needed, you won't find any pov switches in the same chapter here. I personally hate that, it's confusing and or annoying.
You'll know right away who's pov it is in the first paragraph or sentence. Even though doing so creates some distance, I feel on here it's necessary as people have to wait a while between chapters.
I'll turn on the suggestions helper when the book is done. It's been fully revised four times now. With many chapters completely rewritten and new ones added.
Going into 'editing mode' is jarring for me and it's hard to get back into creating mode, that's why it's off.
What makes us truly strong? Is it in the physical? How about the mental? Perhaps in faith? What gives a person moxy? Just using physical strength isn't enough to make a female protagonist strong, just like everyone else she too is a mix of all things, drawing from many wells. Feminity isn't a weakness it's a strength, celebrate this!
And men deserve more then how they're treated in most books off this site. Our books matter they do influence the generations that read them.
(Most if you all do a great job of not allowing sexism to taint your works. ♥️)
Most dark fantasy lately doesn't have any actual heroes or genuinely good people everyone tends to be 'gray' what about people who want to make a better life for themselves and others, and take a stand for what's right? There's many other ways to make a world dark.
Come read, let me give it a try at something different.
Thank you for reading!
Has no dragons, demons, orks, halflings, or dwarfs. Unless they're mentioned as dead in passing. Haha-hah. I'm not giving up elves though. Just remaking their personalities. Cold aloof, snotty? Na lets try some passion, a hot temper barley head under control and other fun stuff.
