Twin brothers Jacender and Aleximus live peacefully in the Axis: A sealed-off dimension separating the outside world from those living within it. Their days are oftentimes spent training behind the backs of their younger sister and uncle.

Aleximus, frustrated with his life in the Axis, seeks meaning beyond its borders. Jacender only wants to support his brother and see his dream realized.

But the outside isn't a place for young boys without power to roam. It's dangerous and chaotic, and the people who inhabit it share dangerous ideologies. Beliefs that if not checked, could destroy not only the world but the twins themselves. Nothing makes that more clear than when an outsider invades the Axis, realizing Aleximus's dream at a deadly cost.
