Join Synn, a down on his luck adventurer with an amazing innate skill. The ability to steal skills and stats from those he fights while leaving them weakened.

However not all that glitters is gold. His talent is temporary and he's unable to level himself or it, severely hampering his chances of getting into a college and furthering his education. That is until he hits rock bottom and takes a chance.

About to be homeless after his former girlfriend walks out of their relationship and the shared apartment leaving him with all the bills he takes a chance on an unstable rift that needs delving urgently.

A rift can lead to untold possibilities and he takes that one in a million chance to grow stronger.

He might be behind the curve but he knows that he'll work damn hard to be the overpowered hero everybody writes folk tales about.

This is my entry into the Royal Road Writathon and it's my intention to develop some good writing habits from it. My other story is The Broken Prince, also available here on RR! Please feel free to check it out.

As its a challenge my aim is to publish raw chapters as they're finished so you won't see a set pattern till after the event.
