In the city of Vol, a mining worker designated A0L5SM-12 wakes up one day to find everyone has disappeared. In his search for answers, he is picked up by the enigmatic Rhyder, who shows him that FEA, the corporation behind Vol, wasn't all that A0L5SM-12 thought they were.

The newly liberated 'Aeolus' must work together with the rebel factions of The Aleutian, the last habitable zone on an abandoned Earth, to fight and expose FEA, and find a way off the imprisoned planet.
