"Is what you have a dream, or a delusion?"

Beck was never gifted in magic. From birth, he was designated as an Egra, the lowest rank a magician could achieve. But he never let it bother him, never let it get in the way of his dream to join a band: Groups of people that turn over to the Horizon, a mysterious other world where the unusual lurked around every corner. All it meant was that he had to climb a steeper mountain than everyone else. Right?

A third year in Anaestra School of the Arcane, Beck was still an Egra. It doesn't help that his friend, Killen, managed to reach Alphrodia in that same time - a feat unheard of in years. When Killen receives an invite to Liar Court, one of the most prestigious bands in the continent, of course he's happy; but, at the same time, envious.

When Beck becomes mistakenly entangled with the affairs of a new transfer, Mir, his buried past begins to claw its way back to the surface, leading to a series of events that threaten to turn his life upside-down. What would become of him? And more importantly: what would become of his dream?
