A hard sci-fi story set on Saturn's icy moon Enceladus (note: pronounced with a soft 'c'). This is one of only two worlds in the Solar System, apart from Earth, which shows strong indications of being able to support life (the other being Jupiter's moon Europa).

The mission which has landed on the moon to investigate this possibility is in for some surprises. Maybe there is alien life here - but is it native to Enceladus or has it come from elsewhere?
