Andrew Thatcher was mourning the passing of his father.
Albert meant everything to Andrew. He was always there for him, coaching him in soccer and teaching him to appreciate the world.
Towards the end of his sickness, Albert spent less and less time at home, but every chance he got, he would make the effort to get outside into their backyard and encourage Andrew. He would give him advice on his ball skills and help him improve his attitude towards training.
Andrew's ambition was to get into the first team, something Albert said would always stand with him as a cherished memory.
Now, Albert was gone, and Andrew had to pick up the pieces. He had to become the man of the house, while his mother Jenny talked of nothing but bills.

His father's passing had broken him. His grades dipped, his concentration waned, and his ball skills became unpolished and erratic. He was dropped from the second team, and many of his friends abandoned him, making selection for the first team even more unlikely.
For Andrew, everything changed when he discovered a special magical secret...
