Sometimes, it takes the end of days for someone to discover their full potential. That's exactly the case for Jack when the Mana Integration Phase begins, and the System declares Earth a Bastion World. As Mana mutates animals into bloodthirsty monsters and the small town of Stelver finds itself under siege, Jack steps up to become the hero and leader he never wanted to be.

Choosing the expert difficulty Wavebreaker class despite the System's warnings, he sets out to gain the strength to protect his own family and community. But the path to power isn't easy, paved with pain and blood. The challenges are many, from the constant threat of monster sieges, to building and defending a Bastion, to managing the expectations of the people Jack leads.

And as if that's not enough, he unlocks a secret quest to discover the origins of Mana, which will put him at odds with political interests that impact the small town, the Earth, and even the galaxy as a whole.

But all of that can wait for now. Life in a Bastion World comes one day at a time, one siege at a time, one monster at a time.

Things to expect from this story:

-A slow burn narrative focused on the characters and community.

-OP protagonist, though it takes Jack a while to get there.

-Predominantly first person POV, with end of volume chapters in third person POV centered on other characters.

-There's romance. It's not harem, and there won't be any sexually explicit content.

Schedule: New chapters two times a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. Chapter lengths between 2000-2500 words.
