The Republic of London in 2076 is in the grip of a Witch Craze. Underground Cyberwitch gangs battle for control of the city while the authorities are running scared. The witches have unleashed a horrific disease which rips through the city slums killing thousands of children.

Skelly is a River Rat. Street scum. Doesn't know his age or his birthday. Forgotten his real name. Sticks with his squad, surviving by the skin of their teeth. Doing whatever it takes to live through another night in the Republic.

One night under a blood moon, they pick through the bones of a burnt witch by the old River Thames and a sudden cloud of spores emerges from her chest.

Skelly gets the sickness. Skin goes yellow. Coughs until he throws up. Can't sleep for days. Starts to hallucinate.

No matter how much he keeps rubbing his bug eyes, the little flashing words won't go away.
