A continuation of the Nolan-verse of Batman, following directly after the Joker's incarceration. Gotham City thought they'd seen the worst--from organized crime, to the madness of the Scarecrow's attacks and the League of Shadows, to the terror that the Joker spread across the city. Harvey Dent is considered a fallen hero, and only Batman and Commissioner Gordon know the truth of what Dent became before the end...
In this tormented landscape, during a time when Gotham City is trying to heal, there comes a new threat. A brilliant, unknown criminal, gifted at hacking, infiltration and sabotage, and with a penchant for taunting his pursuers using increasingly complex puzzles and riddles. "The Riddler," as the media dubs him, is a terrifying new threat to the citizens of Gotham, who thought they were seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after years of political and civil unrest.
This story is "grounded" as you would expect from the Nolan-verse, it follows many of the same themes, while also taking the Riddler back somewhat to his origins--which is a tormenter, and a man driven by will. This story took me two years to complete, I will be uploading the chapters every day or two. It is a complete work, littered with riddles I had to create on my own. (As you may know, writers have often said that they've struggled writing good Riddler stories, since just about any riddle one could come up with would be easily Google-able by Batman, or anyone else for that matter. So it was a real thrill and a challenge for me to work hard on those aspects first, to invite speculation and intrigue, while still including all the detective work, forensics, and action that we fans come to expect from the Caped Crusader.)
I hope you enjoy this dive back into the Nolan-verse, and will join me back in the dark, sinister streets of Gotham, and look up at the night sky with hope as you see that big, ominous bat signal rake across the clouds.
