A routine trip between the stars, that was all Aridius wanted, not to be trapped in a dark void disconnected from regular space. After she is forced into medical stasis, Aridius awakens in a world unlike any other. Here an all powerful AI known as the System has covered the planet and the natives, some of whom aren't human, wield an esoteric technology they consider magic.

The rest of the crew has already departed, Aridius discovers. They've gained powers unlike any she's seen and set themselves up as gods... and demons.
