The world tries to convince people that spirits are hoaxes. That is unfortunately, not the case. After World War II, Japan and the United States began a forced friendly relationship. Beneath the surface however, both countries were keeping tabs on the other via spiritual means. The United States spiritual division was... alright, but not a single country could beat the Capital of Spiritual Sorcery, Japan. The truth is that each government has a secret sector in their ranks that protect and hide the truth of spirits from the masses to prevent chaos and panic. Most first world countries are able to fund these factions and keep the peace. Lesser countries are only left to blame such occurrences as accidents. The Ordinance Academy project is Japan's top secret school with the sole purpose of taking in "gifted" teenage students and teaching them the ways of sorcery. All of them are orphans with few select exceptions, those being students born from clans who already specialize in sorcery. They indoctrinate these children so as to forget their roots and forcefully start a new life hunting down rogue sorcerers, undetained espers, and demons of all kinds so as to keep society nice and quiet. Though what lurks beyond are gods rising from their graves, blood curdling freaks who have come to wreak havoc, and the brutal game of politics that plagues every institution; both Eastern and Western.
