You die and leave your cultists alone with your family on your paradise island for only one and a half centuries, and suddenly they think they own the place. They don't.
Unfortunately for Avery, great mystical being who might technically be a god, his family's out of commission because his mother is a reactionary meddler with a penchant for curses. So it's up to little old him to set things straight.
Which is... less than ideal.
As Avery's greatest physical asset is his face, the odds of him having any success with going around cracking skulls aren't great. As for abilities... he might be a great being beyond human understanding, but he's also what could be described as a god of wealth and fortune. Best known for popularity, but less so for fighting power.
Now, trapped on an island that used to be his, with his clueless but loveable mortal father, and surrounded by a cult gone rogue who, for whatever reason, seem to think they're in charge, Avery will have to get creative if he wants to save his family and reclaim his home. Preferably without getting killed again. Because of course the crazy god who got him killed in the first place is still hanging about somewhere. Lurking.
Time for some Cult Rehabilitation.
