Tavora has a secret, and keeping it is a matter of life and death. When her secluded life as a favoured pot wash in a seaside inn crumbles before her, she is thrust into the real world. Searching for a friendly face amongst those who would drag her to the killing mound, she heads for the last safe town on the island. Here she must work out who can be trusted, and who would simply use her as leverage. And as shadows from her past come knocking, will she answer? Or is is safer for the truth to stay buried?
