Conrad Cooper didn't have much going for him. A former pickpocket and low-stakes thief, achieving greatness was something Conrad abandoned the moment he dropped out of high school.

And then he died.

Instead of rotting in a watery grave, Conrad awakens in the world of Igitah where he is given a new chance. He is chosen as Lurchroot Guild's latest Dungeon Runner: individuals summoned from the afterlife to compete in gladiator-like events called Gauntlets. As a Dungeon Runner, Conrad must overcome all manner of monsters, traps and curses from other Guilds' dungeons to survive. Items, spells and level-ups will only get him so far; he'll need to depend on his teammates if he wants to enjoy the loot he gets.

He'll get fame and fortune. Or die trying. Again.
