Who would have imagined that the most powerful wizard in history would be... a farmer? Certainly not Jansen, an orphan living on a plot of cursed land notorious for spontaneous plant combustion!
His journey began when he found his father's magical farming technique and learned he could grow powerful magical resources, from body-cleansing teas to muscle-enhancing spinach. It was a gold mine!
Unfortunately, his father didn't explain how to use it or manage his explosive farm. As a result, he had to uncover the secrets of both—one near-death experience at a time.
This is the adventure of a cynical teen's comical struggle to learn horticulture and his subsequent rise to power.

Seeds of Ruin is a cultivator novel-style comedy. Switch "essence" for "Qi" and bring a sense of humor.
Jansen doesn't have Google, so he has to let someone in on his magic to learn. That said, he has street smarts and works behind the scenes to protect himself. It's satisfying seeing him ruthlessly destroy his enemies at the end of the first arc.
