Nikolaos Bren has a reputation as a 'Stressor': a member of the supernatural community that is easy to be set off and become violent, and he has the school records behind him to back it up. This reputation has followed him into University, and doesn't help in the care of his ward, Ashley Bren. Seraphina Aala, the student in charge of managing stressors at Marcellus Academy, had his file slide across her desk. Having enough on her plate as it is, she decides to make it her mission to get him kicked out of the Academy.

Both are fighting for what they need: the truth, and a better future. Will they find what they're looking for apart, or will they be able to show one another the path to what they're searching for?
