Zahur ibn Zaim was once an inhabitant of the Beast World, a world populated by creatures uplifted by a merciful and loving goddess and her siblings – both benevolent and malicious. As one of the immortal jackal-folk, he served the Seelie court for many long years, protecting the world in secret.
But now he's dead.
A long life of teaching, protecting, and nurturing the next generation of children is cut short – but a second chance reveals itself as he awakens as the newest and strangest dungeon core on an unfamiliar world. Most dungeons are death traps, gauntlets of greed and gore for the foolish and the avaricious.
Zahur isn't most people, and neither is his dungeon. If he has to spend his afterlife managing foolhardy adventurers, he's going to do things his way.
Certain elements of the story contain material that either references or is inspired by the Beast World Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition setting created by Heartleaf Games; these elements are mostly relegated to the back story of the main character, but may appear from time to time as information about his past is revealed and discussed.
