This cultivation novel was initially written with the aim of creating a generic xianxia story to entertain myself. But this phase lasted for a very brief time.

Later, I decided to continue it once more after thinking...hey, nobody says it has to be generic. I can make this more interesting by twisting the setting and smashing the usual subplots in this genre.

So far, I've done a splendid job. Everyday I wake up and think, "Man, I can't believe I actually wrote this masterpiece."

Please do NOT read it if you're looking for an MC to get overpowered fast, a grimdark canvas, or even the usual popular Royalroad fics that like to shit on the genre.

And if you find the genre itself distasteful, or expect the story to fit your self-insert fantasies, this is definitely not the one you should choose to read. My major principles in developing the story are that every chapter has to be funny and every arc must contain some massive twists. For that, many elements of wish-fulfillment have been sacrificed. The protagonist stays underpowered most of the time throughout the story. The way a xianxia MC may handle a situation when there's no deus ex machina to save his ass is quite interesting to write.

Read it if you're bored with the usual xianxia plotlines. Otherwise, you'll most likely be disappointed, like your parents are in you.
