the world was quite ordinary, until the day a mysterious energy was discovered in the world, soon scientist began exploiting what they could of that energy on earth.

not long after as if to bless their efforts the universe offered a trickle more of that energy which they gladly accepted...but alongside that came some unwanted additions, using the technology they had just developed they easily suppressed the beasts that had mutated from the energy and it was left at that, soon everyone just forgot and humans kept on prospering while exploiting the inklings of this new energy

but soon mother universe decided to give said energy in abundance.
