Two childhood friends, Max and Mia, discover magical powers, while dealing with the mundanities and responsibilities of regular life. They are encouraged by Mia's enigmatic great uncle who has an even grander history than what the two suspect. Before either get much of a handle on their burgeoning powers, they are thrust into a magical world that leaves them more intimidated than excited. Bolstered by each other's company, there's plenty of room for enthusiasm.
