I did everything right: top grades at school, fast tracked my way through the military, shamelessly self-promoted to the talent scouts, Quantico was a bear…. And for what? A desk job in some high-security government building with a bunch of other retired or washed out spies? This was not the career path I thought I was taking. *Sigh* That's what I get for trying to do a little bit of everything; I didn't specialize. Somehow I thought that would give me an edge. You need a hacker? I can do that… to a point. Thief? Same thing. Frontman? I'm passable. Combat or equipment specialist? Yup. Even the behind the scenes guy calling all the shots! You bet I could do that! But they want you to have an I.Q. about twenty points higher than mine and an obsession with the game of chess for that.
