Hamurabi, (Ham to his friends) was your usual archeology dig delving nerd. With a good understanding of modern science, his team had used computer based image processing and ground penetrating radar to find a chamber filled with an ancient pharoahs tomb....

And the lamp within.

Ham had to rub the lamp to get it clean for the display case, and released the Genie.

After some discussion he made the following combined wish:

I wish to be transported to a new world, full of mystery and potential, where I can wish to become a being of power and life unlimited, that cannot be bound to stop its growth or die of age and where I wish to have unlimited followers who would serve my every whim.

But the genie, as all genies do, will try and complete the wish in the form that is most able to lead the wisher to ruin.

The next day Ham awoke as a dungeon core. Able to create minions who would follow his every whim, with the ability to gain power forever never aging, growing into a pocket dimension of increadible size, connected to a world of magic, wonder and fantasy. It meet everything he asked for, but none of what he really wanted.

And the gods of the dimension were less than pleased by this new player in the great game.
