Steven Lonheim, a former criminal on Earth, dies and is summoned to meet a God in the realm between worlds. This place is aptly named the In-Between. Steven is sentenced to be reborn as a Goblin slave, as punishment, for his vileness. After years of grueling labor, he meets a tragic end in a dungeon. However, his journey is far from over. A Fallen God resurrects him and gives him a choice of powers to acquire. Steven chooses Necromancy, granting him the ability to raise and control the dead.

With his newfound power, he takes on the moniker "Karloc" and sets out on a holy quest to free the Goblin race from their life of slavery. He faces countless obstacles and battles as he rises up against those who seek to keep the Goblins oppressed. His unwavering determination and cunning are matched only by his thirst for vengeance.

As Karloc, Steven must navigate treacherous nations, make difficult decisions, and ultimately, bring an end to the centuries of enslavement. Will he succeed in freeing the Goblins, or will he fail in his quest? The fate of an entire race rests in the hands of this former criminal-turned-Necromancer.
