Winter rages for the third consecutive season. Crops lie long forgotten beneath pale snow; whatever animals survived have long since been hunted to extinction. Little food remains in towns and villages, and so instinct drives those starving people to seek greener pastures, to find food and land worth living in. Or to die a Viking's death.

It is in Leif Erikson's blood to sail west, to discover land ripe for the taking. Like his father before him, he seeks a treasure long since considered fantasy. But what if he finds those lands already occupied by foreigners with strange powers? He does what any Viking would do.
