The struggle between the Heavens and the Deep spills over to the realm of Tanga. The King of Demons, Baliel, wages a war meant to consume all of humanity. To safeguard her people; Seraphiel, the goddess of elements provided blessings in the form of cultivation, to enable them to fight demons and survive. The line of Guardians was given the power to cultivate all elements and rival the Demon Princes in strength. When the last guardian is betrayed and dies, Tanga must survive until a successor arises.

Uzman hails from a small village in Tanga, where those who wish to live in peace seek refuge. He lived with his grandfather learning to hunt and forage for herbs. His greatest desire was to become a forager for herbs and heal people like his grandfather. However, their village is discovered by the Imperial Inquisitors who put every person to the sword. By happenstance, Uzman survives and goes to the Academy to train as a mage, resolved to become strong enough to shield the people from the Imperial yoke.
