The Imperium's endlessly expanding System finally travels across the far reaches to encounter Earth, bringing with it the order and rightness of the Imperium, the advent of mana, and the complete destruction of modern life. Will has to deal with the sweeping effects of mana as it begins to blanket Denver and the rest of the world. Stranded in the Rocky Mountains, he learns to use mana to his advantage to combat the otherwordly, increasingly hostile life that's invaded his home.
