Zayd Naughton, one of the top-ranked players in the game, "Chronicle Odyssey", manages to defeat the final boss in the game's latest quest alongside his guild but is dismayed to find out the game will be shut down soon after. His frustation with the glory he obtained in the game becoming meaningless is overshadowed when the whole world is struck by an unforeseen catastrophe. On the verge of death due to this disaster, he wishes for a second chance to have a real impact in life and fix this broken world. What answers his wish is a mysterious being who offers him a contract where he will become the one to patch the world's system itself.
